Hedberg Oil was founded by Hal Hedberg in 1927 when he acquired his first royalty interest near Big Lake, Texas. In this area, the famed Santa Rita #1 discovery well kicked off the early oil boom in the Permian Basin of West Texas.

Since those early beginnings, Hedberg Oil has grown to include widespread mineral, royalty and working interests thoughout many of the major producing basins in the U.S.

Still 100% family owned and operated, Hedberg Oil has grown to include several affiliated companies while maintaining our core values of Independence, Trust, Integrity and Confidentiality.
